Amtrak’s Empire Service Train 237 which was travelling from NYC to Albany hit a car back on December 26th. NewsChannel 13 filed a FOIL (Freedom of Information Act) request back in December and obtained the video this month.
The video shows a driver driving through the Pirate Canoe Crossing in Poughkeepsie and getting stuck on the tracks. The driver then gets himself free, before getting himself stuck again. That time, the driver was unable to get himself out and exited the car.
MTA Police said the train propelled the car over 100 feet and damaged the railroad crossing. The video shows the damage to that car…
