Officers were dispatched to a residence on Casta Lane at approximately 7:47 a.m. on a report of a domestic dispute in progress, Police Chief Donald Martin said.
Officers determined that Christopher Negit, a 39-year-old Edgewater man, had barricaded himself in the attic crawl space during their initial investigation, Martin said. Officers requested assistance from the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, police said. The Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, Bergen County Crisis Negotiators, and the Fort Lee Police Department arrived on scene to assist, the chief said.
At approximately 10:51 a.m., the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team and Bergen County Crisis Negotiators were able to safely take Negit into custody.
