East Village brawl erupts at late-night pizza spot after smoking dispute

NEW YORK, NY – A late-night argument over smoking inside a Manhattan eatery spiraled into violence Friday when three unidentified individuals brutally attacked a 24-year-old man inside Pizza & Hot Dog at 131 Avenue A, police said.

According to NYPD Crimestoppers, the confrontation began around 11:58 p.m. when the victim confronted the group about smoking inside the restaurant. The dispute quickly escalated, turning physical as the trio repeatedly punched the man in the face.

One of the attackers, described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, allegedly struck the victim in the head with a glass bottle, causing deep lacerations to his right ear and noticeable swelling across his face. The suspects fled before officers arrived…
