Multiple members of the “Edgewater, NJ and Fort Lee, NJ and Cliffside Park, NJ” Facebook group said they were jolted awake by loud music around 5 a.m. Sunday and were trying to figure out where it was coming from. One person said it was so loud on Route 5 that it sounded like it was right next door and noted it had also happened the week before.
Commenters said they heard the same music and some called police. One resident who lives near the water said the sound appears to be coming from around West 125th Street in New York City. Another said the music started around 1:42 a.m., then again at 5:09 a.m., lasting until 6 a.m., and was so clear it felt like speakers were in their backyard, even though it was traveling across the Hudson River.
