Flames and smoke poured from the upper floors of the BronxCare Medical & Apartment Complex at 1650 Selwyn Ave on Wednesday night, as a fire broke out in the high-rise and drew a swift response from firefighters. Crews brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes, and officials said there were no reported injuries.
According to News 12 The Bronx, the FDNY got the call just before 8:30 p.m. and arrived to find flames coming from the 17th floor. Fire officials told the outlet the department had the fire under control in roughly half an hour, and the cause is still under investigation.

The building at 1650 Selwyn Ave is identified as the BronxCare Medical & Apartment Complex, a mixed-use tower that combines outpatient clinic space with residential units, per BronxCare.
