A former New York City police officer was killed after being struck by a pickup truck on a residential street in Wantagh, authorities confirmed to Daily Voice.
The crash happened when a 57-year-old man driving a 2025 GMC pickup truck westbound on Lufberry Avenue turned south onto Briard Street and struck a pedestrian at 5:22 p.m. on Monday, March 9, according to Nassau County detectives.
