Bronx Subway Swipe Hustle Turns Bloody At Prospect Ave Stop

A midday subway ride in the Bronx took a violent turn Thursday when a man was slashed at the Prospect Avenue and Westchester Avenue station after refusing to buy an illegal swipe, police said. The attack unfolded shortly after noon on the 2 and 5 lines and left the victim with cuts to his nose, right hand and back, plus a stab wound to his left shoulder. He was treated at the scene while the attackers bolted to the street, leaving a weapon behind, according to police.

Police said one suspect pulled out a knife and slashed the victim on the nose, right hand and back, then stabbed him in the shoulder. Officers later found a weapon near the street where the attackers ran off, the outlet noted.
