Driver Said He Was Pharmacy Tech After Cops Found $5.6K, 191 Pills In Little Ferry Stop: Chief

Joanis Pellumbi, a Lodi resident and native of Greece, was arrested on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:53 p.m. after officers spotted a Black Chevy Equinox speeding near Washington Avenue, according to Little Ferry Police Chief James Walters.

Officers followed the vehicle onto Bergen Turnpike, where it stopped suddenly in the roadway before continuing. Officers then activated their lights and conducted a motor vehicle stop.

Pellumbi appeared “extremely nervous” and provided documents along with several PBA cards, police said. A K9 unit responded, and K9 Timmy indicated the presence of narcotics during an exterior sniff of the vehicle…
