Rush hour on a Bronx bus turned ugly when a man allegedly pulled a sharp object and attacked a fellow rider on a southbound BX41 in Mount Hope, and police say he is still on the loose.
The NYPD says the assault happened on Feb. 28 at about 5 p.m. A 35-year-old man was struck in the hands, injured, and taken by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. Investigators say the attacker flashed a sharp object, hit the victim, then hopped off the bus and took off on foot.
Police Release Image, Ask Riders To Speak Up
According to Norwood News, the NYPD has circulated a still image of the man wanted in the case and is combing through bus surveillance footage and witness statements. The photo, credited to the NYPD, shows the suspect on board the bus shortly before the incident.
Detectives have described the episode as an unprovoked assault. As of now, no arrests have been announced, and the case remains an open investigation.
