LaGuardia plane crash: Heartbreak as sources say pilot and co-pilot killed in runway smash

A pilot and co-pilot have been killed after a plane landing at LaGuardia airport collided with an emergency vehicle on the runway, sources have claimed.

Two Port Authority police officers have also reportedly been seriously injured in the crash. The Air Canada aircraft collided with a fire truck on the taxiway late Sunday night, forcing the airport to shut down, authorities said.

The Air Canada Express CRJ-900 had come from Montreal and had been landing at the airport at around 11:37pm when the crash occurred at LaGuardia’s Runway 4 at Delta’s Terminal during landing, according to local reports.
