Police in the Bronx are hunting for four men after a 43-year-old was pistol-whipped and robbed inside a Fordham tax-preparation office in the middle of the afternoon, turning a routine errand into a violent holdup.

The assault happened on March 4, just after 2:30 p.m., inside a Webster Avenue business. Witnesses told officers the suspects punched the victim multiple times before taking off. Investigators say the crew caused about $6,000 in damage and grabbed an unknown amount of cash before speeding away in a gray Nissan sedan with North Carolina plates.
