A man committed suicide by jumping off a Hoboken building near 11th and Hudson Streets this morning, according to officials and eyewitnesses.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., Hoboken police, fire, and EMS responded to 1100 block of Hudson Street. Residents were asked to avoid the area while an investigation took place and there was no threat to the public, Hoboken public safety spokeswoman Marci Rubin said in an email.
Mayor Emily Jabbour commended the efforts of the Mile Square City’s first responders, as well as acknowledging the serious nature of the situation in a lengthy statement.
