WATCH: Stabbed Hackensack Teen’s Family Boldly Confronts Council Hours After Attack

The family of a 16-year-old boy stabbed right outside of Hackensack Police Headquarters spoke out just hours after the attack during a city council meeting held steps from the scene.

“My nephew is in a bad situation right now,” said Luz Diaz, the boy’s aunt, on Tuesday evening, March 24. Diaz said the boy had a three-hour surgery and required a blood transfusion after being stabbed seven times that afternoon.

Diaz said the violence had been building for some time and began at the high school, but continued outside of school and at the boy’s home. Diaz said school officials said they couldn’t do anything because the incidents were happening out on the street. And so, Diaz’s family pulled the boy out of school over safety concerns…
