A decades-old murder case that haunted a New York community has finally been resolved, as the man responsible for the killing of 13-year-old Minnie Soriano has been sentenced more than 25 years after the crime.
Minnie Soriano, a Bronx middle school student, was reported missing in February 1999 after leaving school. Four days later, her body was discovered in a garbage bag inside a dumpster.
Authorities determined she had been strangled to death. The case shocked the local community and remained unsolved for years despite extensive investigation.
