Police from the 106th Precinct are looking for two armed robbers who targeted a corner deli located at 131-02 Rockaway Blvd. during the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 7.
Police say a 22-year-old male store employee was approached by two strangers, and one of them pulled out a gun and the duo forcibly removed $2,000 in cash from the victim before fleeing the deli southbound on 131st Street toward Sutter Avenue. Investigators have determined that the gunman is the same perpetrator who allegedly robbed a Lefferts Boulevard grocery store at gunpoint on March 28 and sped away from the scene on a bicycle and tried to rob a Texas Chicken & Burgers in South Richmond Hill 10 days earlier before leaving empty-handed on a bicycle.
In addition to the South Ozone Park corner deli armed robbery, the same suspect allegedly struck three other times so far this month, beginning during the early morning hours of Saturday, April 4, when he approached a 55-year-old man in front of 132-02 Liberty Ave. in South Richmond Hill at around 3:15 a.m. Police say the suspect brandished a firearm and snatched a necklace from the victim’s neck before running off southbound on 132nd Street toward Van Siclen Street…
