74-year-old man struck and killed on FDR Drive, police say

A 74-year-old man died after he was struck by two drivers while walking across Manhattan’s FDR Drive on Wednesday night, police said Thursday.

NYPD officials said Derek Coker was crossing the highway from west to east near the East Houston Street exit near the Lower East Side around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Coker was hit in the left northbound lane by the driver of a 2025 black Chevrolet SUV, and was then hit in the middle lane by the driver of a 2024 silver Mitsubishi sedan, according to police…
