Brooklyn man allegedly bites NYPD officer after traffic stop on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities allege that a 56-year-old driver bit an NYPD officer after the defendant was pulled over by police for traffic violations in Clifton.

Willie Ames of Porter Avenue in Brooklyn was driving a black 2010 Nissan Altima on June 20 at about 9:45 p.m. when he was arrested near Vanderbilt Avenue and Targee Street, according to the criminal complaint and police.

Officers placed Ames in the backseat of a patrol car. The criminal complaint alleges that the defendant bit the left forearm of an officer who was trying to buckle the defendant’s seat belt…
