MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — The NYPD had a rather unusual encounter in Manhattan on Tuesday morning after it was reported that a snake had taken refuge inside a pipe.
The incident was reported at around 9:27 a.m. near West 95th Street and West End Avenue.

The NYPD Emergency Service Unit responded to the scene. Video from Citizen shows officers carefully pouring water down the pipe and safely securing the freed snake inside a bag.
No injuries were reported. The snake was taken to animal control.
