26-year-old man faces attempted murder charge after shots fired on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 26-year-old New Jersey man was arrested and charged after multiple shots were fired Tuesday afternoon in Meiers Corners, police said.

Raheen Tilghman of Woodbridge was charged with attempted murder, attempted assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon following the shooting near Carmel Avenue, according to police.

Police said an individual, now identified as Tilghman, fired a gun multiple times on Carmel Avenue at about 4:20 p.m. Sept. 1. Investigators recovered ballistic evidence at the scene. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Two vehicles seen at scene
