A 32-Year-Old UWS Bar Is Closing, and Its Space Is Already Listed for Rent

Another longtime Upper West Side watering hole is on its way out. The bar, which has been pouring drinks on Amsterdam Avenue for 32 years, announced this week that it’s lost its lease and will be closing next month. Its space has already hit the market, and the listing gives a pretty clear picture of what the landlord’s hoping to see there next.

Jake’s Dilemma, at 430 Amsterdam Avenue between 80th and 81st Streets, will close on October 18, the bar shared on Instagram. “After 32 years on the Upper West Side, we’re heartbroken to share that we lost our lease,” the post reads…
