The homeless encampment Whac-a-Mole continues.
The city cleaned out a filthy East Side homeless encampment under the FDR Drive Monday, leaving behind a stomach-turning mess — while locals said the vagrants will likely come back anyway.
“[The encampment] could start again as soon as, like, the end of the day,” Dina Elkan, senior director of events at Solar One, told The Post. “It’s not just about over here. They have to check all the way down to make sure that people haven’t just relocated.”
The scene resembled a garbage dump on Monday, with luggage, chairs, coolers and piles of trash strewn about under the FDR near 23rd Street — and it’s been going on for weeks…
