Passenger in emotional distress sparks chaotic scene aboard Metro-North train at Grand Central

A woman apparently in emotional distress caused delays and a chaotic scene aboard a Metro-North train as it approached Grand Central Terminal on Wednesday morning.

The 7:12 a.m. train from New Canaan was seconds away from reaching its platform at Grand Central when the emergency cord was activated. Instead of pulling into the station, the train came to a stop before reaching the platform.
