Taoiseach Micheál Martin will pay a visit to Queens, New York, on Wednesday, a stronghold for Irish immigrants who have helped build and shape the area over the years.
Martin is due to meet New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Wednesday evening. Both are expected to attend a lunch at the New York Irish Center in Long Island City, where they will meet members of the center’s senior community and discuss the contribution Irish people have made to the city of New York, from construction to community and politics.
The Taoiseach will also meet New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and is expected to announce $90,000 in Irish Government funding for the development of the James Joyce Museum at the University at Buffalo…
