TOMPKINS COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY ON JANE DOE’S TRANSCRIPT

ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten said he has now received the 2024 transcript of Jane Doe’s interview with investigators about the 2024 alleged rape at the Chi Phi fraternity at Cornell University.

The transcript is 120 pages. District Attorney Van Houten has continuously said that his office did not originally prosecute the case in 2024 because he previously only had a six-page statement from Jane Doe. He said that statement described her participating in drug use and sexual conduct as voluntary, conscious and consensual.
