Unlicensed doctor charged with murder after woman dies from injection: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — An unlicensed doctor accused of administering an anti-aging injection that became lethal has been charged with murder after turning himself in to police, authorities announced late Tuesday.

It’s an added charge for New Jersey resident Luis Rojas Cabrera, 56, who previously pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of profession, prosecutors previously reported.

According to prosecutors, Rojas Cabrera allegedly injected 27-year-old Elizabeth Baron with an IV of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, aka NAD+, in her right hand. NAD+ is a substance found in the body that helps cells create energy and is sometimes marketed as an anti-aging treatment…
