NYPD identify construction worker killed of Borough Park building collapse

Police have identified the man who died in a partial building collapse in Borough Park.

Authorities say 33-year-old Juan Tamay, a construction worker from Queens, was killed on the job when the first floor of the building on 50th Street collapsed into the basement.

The Department of Buildings says the vacant building underwent an unpermitted structural alteration, which compromised the structure. The DOB has since issued a full vacate order on the property.
