Brooklyn man charged with stunt driving after doing donuts in front of crowd on LI

MELVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A Brooklyn man on Long Island was arrested and charged when he was caught by cops doing donuts for a crowd of spectators, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

Officers were monitoring several areas for unlawful street gatherings in response to multiple complaints from community members and came across a large gathering of vehicles and pedestrians in Melville.

At around 10:15 p.m. the cops witnessed Asad Zulfiqar, 24, doing donuts while driving a 2024 BMW M3 Competition. He was among other vehicles and pedestrians were watching.

Zulfiqar, of Flatlands, Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with unlawful stunt behavior in a motor vehicle, police said. The arrest falls under a new Suffolk County vehicle and traffic code.

The BMW was also seized, authorities said.

Zulfiqar will be arraigned in Central Islip at a later date.
