Watch: NYPD cops save woman from jumping off Brooklyn Bridge

NEW YORK (PIX11) — NYPD officers saved a woman from jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge during a rainy day in New York City, according to dramatic bodycam video.

Lt. Hak Kim and Officer Brendan Giardino spotted a 25-year-old woman walking across the beam towards the cables of the Brooklyn Bridge just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

“Please don’t do this. We got you,” Lt. Kim tells the woman in the video. “We’re gonna help you out, please.”

“Don’t jump. Don’t jump,” he added.

Lt. Kim then opens a dialogue with the woman and pleads with her not to leap before asking her to sit on the span’s beam, according to the footage.

“It’s not worth it. We care about you, okay,” the cop tells her.

The officers convinced the woman to come down and she was taken to the hospital for a psychological evaluation, according to the NYPD.

“We got you, okay,” Lt. Kim said.
