This Photo of Winona Ryder Just Debunked This Reality Star’s Impressive Story at the 2024 Met Gala

At the Met Gala red carpet , celebrities often gush about the hard work and care that went into making their outfits. Whether that means countless hours of manual labor or how well-kept a garment has been through decades, the Met Gala often becomes a competition for the most impressive outfit .

At the 2024 Gala , Kendall Jenner did just that as she revealed that her dress, designed by Alexander McQueen for Fall Winter 1999, was being worn for the very first time.

“I’m the first human to wear it,” Jenner told Vogue in their live coverage, per Us Weekly . According to The Kardashians star, the garment showed on the runway at the time, but “showed on a mannequin” and not a model. “It’s a miracle that it fit,” the model added. “It’s a miracle that we found it.”

That same night, Givenchy released a statement seemingly echoing Jenner’s remarks. “The dress has been preserved in the archives since fall-winter 1999,” the statement read, per Glamour . “It has never been worn or presented on the runway before, and it will go back to the Givenchy Archives after the Met.”
