STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Department store retailer J.C. Penney will shutter four stores across as many states, Retail Dive has reported. According to an email provided by the company, locations in Alabama, Texas and Maine will close before Sept. 22. The J.C. Penney at the Westfield Annapolis Mall in Annapolis, Maryland, will close in 2025.
