Prosecutor: Man accused of fatally shooting New Jersey taxi driver arrested in Brooklyn

A man accused of fatally shooting a taxicab driver in Hazlet, New Jersey was arrested in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Gaetano Scannavino, 25, is accused of shooting Anthony Hill, 42, multiple times on Sept. 14. Officials say that Hill’s body was found in a parking lot off Route 36 next to a large dumpster.

Hill worked as a driver for the Yellow Car Company for 18 years, according to his obituary. Scannavino remains in custody in New York awaiting extradition to New Jersey. He was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree carjacking and two second-degree weapons offenses. ”
