2 NYPD officers hospitalized after crashing cruisers into each other while responding to emergency in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two NYPD officers were sent to the hospital following a police car crash Saturday night in Brooklyn that occurred while they were responding to an emergency, police said.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Cleveland Street in Cypress Hills.

Both injured officers were rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

Citizen App video from the scene shows a large response by emergency officials, and a wrecked white SUV in the center of the same intersection.

The nature of the emergency police were responding to was not immediately clear.

The accident is under investigation.
