Twelve units made up of 60 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to a report of a fire at the Hell’s Kitchen apartment building just after 9pm this evening, a spokesperson for the FDNY said.

Two ladders were raised to the rooftop of 449 W56th Street, a four-story, 32-unit building between 9th and 10th Avenue.

“I heard people in the building yelling ‘fire’ so I ran out of my apartment,” one resident told us.
