NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two men were shot and blinded by drive-by shooters who opened fire on them unprovoked on a Queens street, police said Tuesday as they released footage of the suspects’ vehicle.
The victims—ages 56 and 43—were sitting inside a vehicle at the northeast corner of the Douglaston Parkway and the Long Island Expressway in Douglaston around 11 p.m. on Oct. 5 when they were fired upon.
As a light-colored sedan passed their vehicle, two people inside of it fired 20 shots at the victim’s vehicle, striking both of them, police said.
The 56-year-old was grazed in the stomach by a bullet, while the 43-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm and the loss of vision to his left eye.
EMS transported the pair to North Shore University Hospital in stable condition.
The suspects were last seen fleeing in their vehicle. Police described the shooting as unprovoked, and it’s unclear if there’s any connection between the two men and their attackers.
