A Brooklyn man on Tuesday was sentenced for the shooting of a 16-year-old girl injured by a stray bullet near a high school in Midwood. Javan Johnson, 22, from Flatbush, was sentenced by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Joanne Quinones to nine years in prison and five years of post-release supervision after he pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted assault on Sept. 5, 2024, according to a press release from the office of Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.
