Thieves distract woman, 71, on Brooklyn street, steal her wallet

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Friday released surveillance footage of two men accused of distracting a 71-year-old old woman, then stealing her wallet on a Brooklyn street last week.

It happened approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, when the woman was in her vehicle in the vicinity of 1019 Hart Street in Bushwick, authorities said.

According to officials, both suspects approached the woman and one engaged her in a conversation. When she was distracted, the other suspect reached into the vehicle and removed her pocketbook containing credit cards and an unknown sum of money.

The suspects then fled the location in a white BMW SUV, traveling westbound on Hart Street.

The first suspect, who removed the pocketbook, was last seen wearing a camouflage hat, white sweat shirt, white sweatpants and white sneakers.

The second was last seen wearing a white baseball cap, white jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
