Firefighters responding to 2-alarm brush fire in Prospect Park, Brooklyn

The FDNY responded to a large brush fire in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on Friday night.

Fire officials said it was a 2-alarm brush fire as of 8:30 p.m. but as of 10:30 p.m. officials said the fire was under control.

The FDNY utilized drone technology to identify hot spots and specialized brush fire units.

Officials said the fire was spread over two acres.

In a press conference Friday night, officials said the fire is extremely inaccessible area for firefighters to get to as well as difficult dry conditions.

Fire officials said the fire is under control but there are some hotter spots as winds pick up.

Officials said they will remain on scene overnight to make sure the fire does not start back up.

Firefighters responded to a call just after 6:30 p.m. for a report of a brush fire in the area of Nethermead.

Officials said to expect smoke and traffic delays in the area and to close windows to avoid smoke.

120 firefighters responded to the scene, officials said.

No injuries have been reported.
