QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police identified the woman killed by a curb-jumping taxi as a 51-year-old from Long Island.
Vidya Dookran-Franco, of Merrick, died after a cab collided with another car, sending the cab onto the sidewalk Saturday around 3:11 a.m. near 115th Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard, police said.
The cab crashed into three pedestrians, including Dookran-Franco, a 49-year-old man and a 44-year-old man, police said. Dookran-Franco was pronounced dead at an area hospital, and the two men were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police have not made any arrests in the crash.
