Coney Island Residents Push Back Against Boardwalk Casino Proposal

Update: A previous version of this article stated that 90 percent of Luna Park rides and vendors would be demolished or displaced by the proposal. A spokesperson for the developers has reached out to BKMAG to insist this would not be the case. They provided a project map from the developers for us to review, which does not indicate that level of disruption, but does show that many attractions and vendor spaces would be removed or otherwise affected by the proposal.

Last night, Coney Island locals gathered to debate a proposal from a developer that would fundamentally alter the face and function of the People’s Playground.
