Walmart renovating 3 local stores as part of new shopping ‘experience’

ALBANY — Walmart says it is renovating 23 stores across New York state this year, including three in the Capital Region that the retail giant believes will elevate the shopping experience for customers.

The new stores that will get facelifts are located in Rensselaer County Plaza on Troy Road in East Greenbush; at 1320 Altamont Ave. in Rotterdam; and on Quaker Ridge Boulevard in Queensbury.

Walmart has been steadily renovating stores across the country, spending $298 million on the effort over the past five years, according to the company. This year, it plans to complete the renovations of 650 stores across the country…
