‘I want it to go away.’ Encampments to protest planned shelter in Sheepshead Bay enter 2nd month

Angry Sheepshead Bay residents are protesting a planned shelter located at 2134 Coyle St. These residents have set up tents in a protest encampment that has stretched into its second month.

The encampments are filled 24/7 with protestors calling for a reversal of the project to what was originally slated to be affordable housing, but is now slated to be a homeless shelter.

“Now you know we have no trust so, whatever they say, I don’t want to hear it and go back to the original plan. No one would be out here if this was affordable housing,” said resident Andy Wang…
