The Rite Aid pharmacy on Pitkin Avenue in Brownsville is among hundreds of locations set to close as the struggling chain moves forward with its latest bankruptcy filing.
A spokesperson close to the company confirmed that Rite Aid is once again entering Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of that process, the company will sell off prescriptions, store inventory, and other assets. Any stores or distribution centers not sold will be permanently shut down.
Rite Aid has not confirmed the exact closing date for the Brownsville location, but sources say all stores nationwide are expected to close or change ownership in the coming months…
