NYPD: Suspect attacked man, 70, before stealing $5K worth of jewelry in broad-daylight robbery on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 70-year-old worker was beaten and jewelry worth $5,000 was stolen during a heist at a New Dorp business on Friday, police told the Advance/SILive.com.

The robbery took place at Sunrise Fine Jewelry, located at 302B New Dorp Lane, around 3:55 p.m., said police.

Two unidentified individuals entered the store, punched a 70-year-old man who worked there and pushed him to the floor, according to police.

One of the suspects then stole multiple earrings with a total approximate value of $5,000 from a display. That same individual fled the scene on foot, traveling towards Hylan Boulevard on New Dorp Lane, as noted by the NYPD…
