NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A day after New York City’s broker fee ban took effect, some apartments on StreetEasy have seen their prices increase, users on social media say.
The Fairness in Apartment Rental Expenses (FARE) Act made it so that brokers who were hired by a building landlord could not pass their expenses onto prospective tenants. However, some have expressed concern that those fees may be baked into the rent for a unit.
