Detainees broke through wall to escape ICE facility in NJ: officials

NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) — Authorities are searching for four migrants who escaped by breaking through a wall at an ICE detention center in New Jersey Thursday night, officials said.

The four detainees fled from Delaney Hall in Newark hours after a riot broke out inside the immigration facility, according to the Department of Homeland Security and police sources.

New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim on Friday said the detainees knocked down a drywall that led to an exterior door. He called the facility “insecure” and alluded to the idea that detainees will be removed from the facility in the next 24 hours…
