See it: More than 25,000 take to NYC streets for ‘No Kings’ protests

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Streets throughout New York City were flooded with more than 25,000 protesters on Saturday, rallying and marching as part of the nationwide “No Kings” day of action.

According to police, at least 25,000 people marched from Bryant Park to Washington Square Park in Manhattan prompting street closures and delays around 2 p.m. in Midtown.

Ahead of events in the five boroughs, the NYPD announced the deployment of officers trained in de-escalation to monitor Saturday’s protesters.

“No Kings” day was organized in response to a military parade and birthday celebration set on Flag Day this Saturday, which also coincides with President Donald Trump’s birthday, according to the event website…
