Nashville Homicide Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals in New York City Await Extradition

The manhunt for a homicide suspect came to a close when U.S. Marshals detained 39-year-old Omeed Yahya Esmail in New York City, as the Metro Nashville Police Department reported; Esmail was wanted in connection to the suspicious death of Joseph Williams in Nashville earlier this year. According to WKRN, the deceased was found in a motel bathroom near Nashville International Airport with dried blood on his face once a cloth obscuring it was removed, leading authorities to surmise foul play, and Esmail was purportedly the last person seen with Williams.

Further unsettling details emerged about the crime scene where officers found Williams fully clothed and lifeless in the bathtub of a motel on Claridge Drive, with WSMV reporting the surrounding drywall had been broken and pieces were discovered inside the tub. Esmail, accused of the death of Williams had been living at the motel for an extended period alongside the victim, the abrupt conclusion to a shared domesticity now marred by mystery and the specter of violence.
