A New York City man, Brian Tarrence, is currently the subject of an intensive search in the Caribbean after he disappeared during what was intended to be a romantic getaway with his wife on the island of Turks and Caicos, with the concerned family hiring a private investigator and the local authorities issuing a missing persons alert. According to a report by NBC New York, 51-year-old Tarrence vanished in the early morning hours last Wednesday after being seen on surveillance footage at around 3:40 a.m. leaving his Airbnb rental at the Inn at Grace Bay and possibly heading toward the island’s downtown area.

Carl Defazio, a former NYPD detective and the private investigator on the case mentioned that Tarrence had his phone and wallet on him when he departed the rental, and though there are no known health issues that could explain his absence, the possibility of criminality is being considered; the family is reaching out for any new leads that might help locate him, Tarrence disappeared after he and his wife enjoyed a boat ride and dinner, marking a disconcerting shift from what seemed like an ordinary vacation.
