NYPD cadets challenge disqualification: ‘I want to serve the people’

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Roger, who’s in his 20s, is speaking exclusively to PIX11 News. He is one of the 31 newly enrolled NYPD cadets whose law enforcement careers are still in legal limbo. They are at the center of the department’s efforts to dismiss them, citing legal grounds due to “disqualifying offenses” in their records.

“I want to be a police officer in New York City and serve the people,” Roger said.
