42-year-old man taken into custody after NYC apartment goes up in flames, injuring two firefighters

One person was taken into custody after a Bronx apartment building went up in flames Wednesday night — injuring two firefighters, according to authorities.

At roughly 8:16 p.m., first responders received reports of a fire on the fourth floor of 4130 Carpenter Avenue, located between East 230th Street and East 231st Street in Wakefield, FDNY officials said.

Subsequent 911 calls stated people were witnessed jumping from the burning building, but those reports were later discovered to be unfounded, officials said…
